June 4-8: Virginia Vaughan

V….Vaughan is an American Impressionist, and veteran instructor
whose classes are fun, encouraging, and cover many aspects of
painting. SEEING is the key to painting, and V…. says  “EVERYONE
can do this! Your way of seeing is YOUR unique style …and we
launch you from there!”
Class will consist of painting a number of small format “starts”,
SEEING shape and color outdoors (en plein air), painting from your
photos (as if plein air), and we will even do Vaughan’s famous
“Chicken Clinic” ….an hour of fun and COLOR guaranteed to bring
forth a painting you will like! And it will loosen “tight“ painters into
IMPRESSIONISTS!

June 23-24: Patty Mathes
Pastels, “Blooming colors” This workshop will focus on floral and
cactus blossom painting. Get the most out of your color palette using
Patty's method of choosing purposeful colors which create
harmonious unified compositions. Lost and found edges as related to

July 14-15: Trilby Arnold
"Scratch Art."  Learn scratch art engraving. Scratch art has become
incredibly popular in the last few years. What is it? Masonite coated
with white clay and sprayed with black ink. The art and design is
then scratched into the board. Trilby will show you how to produce
richly textured renderings that you can do anywhere. No need for
messy paints here! You'll learn the different styles  of scratch art the
tools used and go home with a completed masterpiece! Please see

July 17-19: Carol Reilley
“Watercolor Landscapes” This award winning professional artist and
instructor will emphasize wet into wet and dry brush techniques,
color mixing and linking values through the landscape.
This is a Watercolor class for all levels of experience.

July 28-29 Barbara Larkum
Gourd Art made easy. Students will be provided all they need to
create a masterpiece they can proudly display in their homes. She'll
display samples of finished gourds and demonstrate the steps that it
takes to complete a piece; the kinds of colors to use, dyes, leathers,
ink, finishing with paper and weavings and beads.  Cost will include

Drawing the Horse” Horse handler and artist, Jolene will
demonstrate by allowing students to feel the bones and muscles of

August 11-12: Pat Dunbar
"Watercolor
This two day watercolor workshop is for beginners to intermediate.
Patty is fun and patient, and her teaching style is a breath of fresh
air. In two days you'll go home with at least one completed painting

August 16-17: Roger Alderman
Oil “Plein Air Bisbee”
This award winning artist and experienced instructor will guide you
through the process of plein air instruction working right here in
Bisbee. You'll start with an inside demo on the art of Plein Air

Class size will be limited to 10 people.  A 50% deposit will hold
your position in the class. Upon receiving your deposit, we will
mail your receipt and a class materials list. Balance is due 30
days before date of class.  Refunds of the entire amount are
given if you call, write, e-mail us 30 days before date of class—
and you receive our acknowledgement via e-mail that we
received your withdrawal. If you cancel your class without 30
days notice we will withhold 20% of your deposit.


Classes are nine a.m. to four p.m. A sack lunch is included
with your fee and will be served at noon. Please let us know if
you have any dietary restrictions. Otherwise, we will have
coffee and water available throughout the day.


Art supplies can be pre-ordered and ready for your arrival from
Atalantis Book and Music Store in Bisbee. (520) 432-9976

Loft Hotel upstairs from Verano Gallery for our students. The
Letson Loft is air conditioned and comfortable. We have made
